Slow, private trips for the occasion you are marking

Honeymoons, anniversaries and round-number birthdays in Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos, for two people or a small group of friends. We plan the route around the month you can travel, because the coast that is calm in March can be closed by a storm in August.

Three ways in

Most people arrive here at one of three points. Some already know the dates and want a route they can price. Some have a place in mind — a night on a boat among limestone islands, a lantern-lit old town, a temple at first light — and want to know whether it suits the month. Others only know that it is a honeymoon, or a fortieth, or twenty-five years married, and want someone to tell them which coast will behave.

Why the month decides the route

Vietnam is long. Its northern coast, its central coast and its southern islands do not share a rainy season, and the Cambodian coast follows yet another pattern. The official tourism authority describes Halong Bay as stormy from June to August, Hoi An as rainy with several storms from October to January, and Phu Quoc as stormy from July to September. Put those three side by side and there is no single month when every coast is at ease.

That is the starting point for every trip we plan. We do not begin with a list of famous places and then hope. We begin with the dates you can travel, find the coast that is in its dry window, and then build the culture half of the trip around it. A couple travelling in December gets a different beach from a couple travelling in July, and the city stops shift to match.

The detail is on the beach calendar: every coast, every month, a mark from 1 to 3, the average rainfall in millimetres and the source for each line. Read it before you fall in love with a specific beach.

What a celebration trip with us looks like

01

Slow by design

Three or four nights in most places, not one. A honeymoon that changes hotel every morning is mostly packing.

02

Private throughout

Your own car, your own guide on culture days, your own boat where a boat is part of the day. No shared minibus, no group table.

03

Culture first, beach last

Cities and temples while you have energy, then four to six nights on a coast that is in season. The order matters more than people expect.

04

The occasion handled quietly

A private dinner, a cake, a room set up for the night of the anniversary. We tell you in writing what each hotel will and will not do.

Who the routes are built for: couples on honeymoon, whether the wedding was last week or last year; couples marking ten, twenty-five or forty years; friends turning forty, fifty or sixty together, in a party of four to eight; and couples who simply want two weeks somewhere warm without organising it themselves.

How we work

  1. 01

    You send the form

Dates or a month, how many of you, the occasion, and the hotel level you have in mind. Nothing else is required to start.

  2. 02

    We reply with a route

A day-by-day plan matched to the month, the hotels we suggest by name, and what each one can arrange for the occasion.

  3. 03

    You adjust

More beach, fewer cities, a different island. We re-quote as often as it takes; changing your mind costs nothing at this stage.

  4. 04

    We confirm in writing

Hotels, transfers, boats and the celebration details, with the payment steps set out on the confirmation.

Every step happens by email to the address you give in the form. See how to book for the full sequence.

Who we are not right for

  • Families travelling with children or several generations together. Our routes, hotels and pace are built for adults marking an occasion.
  • Groups larger than about twelve. Private dinners and boats stop being private at that size.
  • Anyone who wants to see all three countries in ten days. We will suggest cutting a country rather than adding flights.
  • Travellers who need a fixed price on the website before they write. We quote per trip, and we would rather give you a real number than a misleading one.
  • Couples set on a beach in a month when that coast is in its storm season. We will tell you, and suggest a coast that is not.

Common questions

Questions travellers ask most

Do you only plan honeymoons?

No. The same routes work for anniversaries and milestone birthdays, for a couple or a small group of friends. The common thread is an occasion, a slow pace and a private set-up.

Which month is safest for a beach honeymoon?

It depends on the coast. Phu Quoc is driest from December to March, the Da Nang and Hoi An coast is settled from March to August, and Halong Bay is at its clearest in April and May. The beach calendar page has every month.

Why are there no prices on the tour pages?

Because a five-star city hotel and a private pool villa on an island can differ by several times for the same route. We quote the trip after you send dates and hotel level, and the quote lists every item separately.

Can you keep the trip a surprise for my partner?

Yes, as far as the planning goes. We write only to the address you give us, and we ask before copying anyone else in. Passport details for flights and hotels are still needed before travel.

Tell us the occasion, the month and who is coming

A month, the number of travellers and the occasion are enough to start. You get a draft route and an itemised quote, not a brochure.
